4/17/214/17/2021 Decided to go up Porter Fork to Gobblers Knob today to avoid the crowds. Seeing that it’s a high NW facing slope we knew we would have time to ski it a few times before the April sun set it off. The wind from the night before affected it a little bit but not enough to ruin the skiing. It stayed cold the whole time we were in the area, we exited at 2:30. Only instabilities noted were some wet activity on the S facing on Mt Raymond. At this time of year powder skiing is hit and miss and we hit it today, with clear blue skies, views of the valley and the Great Salt Lake in the background. I would think high N would still be good in the am, other aspects might be not so pleasant.

4/16/214/17/2021 Traveled up Cardiff fork from BCC today. Skied an E facing run early on Chutes and ladders, then proceeded up to Highy Ivory. There was 3 inches from the night before, and a foot plus under that, right side up and light for this time of year. I was seeing anywhere from 14 to 18 in most locales. Sluffing on steeper slopes was common but easily negotiated. It’s gonna go off hard and fast tomorrow if the sun comes out.
4/14/214/14/2021 Travel today was up Tanners Gulch. Big downslope canyon winds kept me away in the am, saw a window in the afternoon. Been a while since I’ve been there and it was a different place, rocks and pungi sticks everywhere in the apron, not bad skiing up higher. The sun came out for like 5 minutes and everything went off except the shady skiers right. Not much avalanche concerns today except small wind slabs and wet dribblers in the afternoon.
